Mario Andrés Salgado Gálvez
Holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia and a Master’s degree in Earthquake and Structural Engineering from the same university. Currently is doing the PhD studies in Earthquake Engineering and Structural Dynamics at the Technical University of Catalonia, Barcelona, Spain. Has attended graduate courses in model validation and simulation at Bauhaus University at Weimar, Germany and Economics and Politics in Disaster Risk Reduction at Florida International University in Miami, USA. Is member of the Colombian Earthquake Engineering Association and has participated in the seismic risk assessment for the update of the Colombian earthquake resistant building code. He has published 2 peer reviewed papers in indexed journals and 10 articles in international conferences and congress proceedings. He has participated in natural hazard and risk assessments in more than 10 countries in Latin America in building, water and sanitation and infrastructure sectors.
